Wireless door signs without electrical wiring at each plate

Wireless door signs remove the need to run an electrical cable to each display. That is especially useful when signs are spread across a floor or room assignments change, but it does not remove the need to plan the network behind them.

What “wireless” means in this system

Plates communicate with base stations using a proprietary radio protocol on Bluetooth-capable chips. The control software manages content and the base-station network delivers updates. Employees do not need to pair a phone with every sign.

The specification allows multiple base stations and does not set a fixed system-wide display limit. That describes expansion of the platform, not infinite radio capacity at a single gateway. Base-station count and update capacity need sizing for the actual deployment.

Survey the site before fixing gateway locations

The planning distance between a display and a base station is approximately 20–50 metres, depending on the environment. Walls, floor construction, metal surfaces and gateway placement can change the usable range.

A useful pilot includes the most difficult locations, rather than only the nearest room. Test with normal office activity and doors in their usual positions. Confirm how the system reports a plate that has missed an update and how it recovers.

  • Mark the number and position of signs on a floor plan.
  • Identify power and connectivity for base stations.
  • Include metal partitions and separate floors in the coverage review.
  • Test delivery of a changed message at the furthest locations.

Separate installation work from ongoing care

Mounting is only the first task. Assign ownership of battery replacement, template changes and device location records. A plate moved to another door should be associated with the new location and, for a reservation sign, the correct room calendar.

For an initial company deployment, the Basic Office package includes five office plates, a base station and control software pages at a listed €949. Confirm the final deployment scope and quote terms before treating that as a price for an entire floor.

Questions, answered.

Does every plate need Wi-Fi?

The specified plate-to-base-station link is proprietary radio, not a requirement for individual Wi-Fi connections at each plate.

Does unlimited displays mean one base station is enough?

No. Coverage and traffic capacity still determine the infrastructure required. Larger systems can use additional base stations.
