E-ink meeting room displays: quiet information at the door
An e-ink meeting room display presents room details in a reflective, paper-like view. It is a useful fit when information changes periodically and a continuously illuminated screen would be unnecessary.

Readability is about the room as well as the screen
A black-and-white layout gives names and booking times a simple visual hierarchy. Check it in the actual corridor: ambient light, viewing distance and reflections all affect the result. A reflective display needs suitable external light; it is not an illuminated tablet.
The proposed 7-inch panel has 800 × 640 pixels. The 4.2-inch panel has 400 × 300 pixels, and the 3.7-inch panel supports 416 × 240 pixels in landscape. Compare the amount of readable information rather than diagonal size alone.
Design for information changes, not animation
E-ink is suited to names, status and schedules. It is not the right medium for video or smooth animated dashboards. Display refresh behaviour and supported update rates need validation with the selected panel and control firmware.
For room reservations, useful updates include the start or end of a booking and a confirmed change from the calendar. Avoid a layout that depends on constantly moving content or a seconds countdown. A clear next-booking time can communicate more with fewer refreshes.
A wireless installation still has infrastructure
The plate is battery-powered and needs no electrical wiring at its location. Base stations relay content from the control software, so power, connectivity and radio coverage must still be planned. Three physical buttons can provide contextual actions where the software supports them.
The battery-life target is up to approximately two years under a defined normal-use profile. Actual service life depends on refresh frequency, radio conditions, LED use, temperature and battery capacity. Treat lifetime as a commissioning and maintenance question, not an unconditional promise.
Questions, answered.
Will an e-ink display glow in a dark corridor?
The specified reflective display is not a backlit screen. Check corridor lighting before selecting a location.
Can I show a full day of reservations?
A template can be designed around a schedule, but the final number of readable entries depends on screen size, type size and the available calendar fields.
