Electronic nameplates: a practical introduction
An electronic nameplate is a digital replacement for a printed office, door or room sign. Its content can change without replacing paper or visiting every door. Electronic Nameplate is a battery-powered, black-and-white e-ink system designed for workplaces.

One display, two ways to manage information
For a personal office, a plate can show a name, role and room number. For a meeting room, the intended calendar integration takes reservation information from Outlook / Microsoft 365 or Google Calendar. Employees continue using their usual calendar after an administrator has connected the system.
Calendar connection is one application, rather than a requirement for every plate. The control software can also manage content directly: a training schedule, event room assignment, workstation instruction or temporary team location. Several templates can be selected and edited to suit the information.
What belongs in the system?
The display is the visible part of a larger platform. Control software manages content and devices; one or more base stations communicate wirelessly with the plates. The displays use a proprietary protocol on Bluetooth-capable chips, rather than requiring each employee to pair a phone.
- 3.7-inch Office display: 240 × 416 pixels, or 416 × 240 in landscape.
- 4.2-inch Workspace display: 400 × 300 pixels.
- 7-inch Meeting room display: 800 × 640 pixels.
- Three physical buttons with application-dependent labels on the screen.
Choose the sign around the job
Start with what a visitor needs to read and from what distance. A name and title need a different layout from a room schedule. Larger displays offer room for more information, but clear type and a short message remain more useful than filling every available pixel.
The Basic Office package is listed at €949 for five office nameplates, one base station and control software pages. Sales are to companies only; confirm display selection, VAT, delivery and software licence scope in your quote.
Questions, answered.
Does an electronic nameplate need electrical wiring?
The plates run on replaceable batteries and do not need an electrical cable at each display. Base stations and control software still need the appropriate power and system connections.
Is it a standalone Bluetooth screen?
No. This system uses base stations and central control software; Bluetooth-capable chips describe the radio hardware, not a requirement to pair individual phones.
